Make the entrance readable before adding detail

An entrance sign usually has one job: help someone recognize the right place while approaching it. Start with the property or business name. Then decide whether a short descriptor, address or logo needs to appear. A long list of services or a decorative background can compete with the message that matters most. We can review a sketch, an old sign or a logo and discuss a layout that keeps the main name clear.

Tell us where the sign will sit and how people will see it. A sign beside a driveway is different from a panel read from a sidewalk. The photograph of the location and approximate viewing distance help us review the hierarchy; the final dimensions and layout belong on the production proof.

Between posts, on a wall or inside a monument

For a sign between posts, send the clear opening width, post positions and overall height available. If you are replacing a panel, measure the sign body and mounting locations rather than guessing from the lettering. A shaped sign can extend beyond the readable area, so the outer profile matters as much as the copy.

For a masonry monument, distinguish the sign face from the stone or brick structure around it. We manufacture the HDU sign panel. The monument base, foundation, posts and field installation are separate work unless expressly included in a written proposal. Send opening dimensions and photographs so the new face can be planned around the actual structure.

Choose a background and letter treatment

A smooth recessed background gives a clean setting for raised letters. Woodgrain offers a traditional carved appearance, while a pebble texture adds a different pattern of light and shadow. A border can frame the wording, follow a curved top or become part of the outside shape. Show us a portfolio image you like and tell us which part of it you want to carry into your own design.

Metallic gold paint and genuine gold leaf are different finishes. If you want either, identify it in the request rather than simply writing “gold.” Similarly, acrylic lettering and painted HDU lettering have different edge treatments. These choices should be resolved in the quote and approved proof.

Single-sided and double-sided entrance signs

A wall-mounted face usually needs one finished display side. A roadside or hanging sign may need both sides finished. Let us know whether the same artwork appears on both faces or each side needs a different message. Double-sided work changes the finishing and mounting plan; it should be quoted from the beginning.

Our usual sign board is 15 lb HDU, with common panel choices of 1, 1.5 and 2 inches. Thickness is selected alongside carving depth, span and mounting. A thicker panel alone does not replace a properly planned support system. Our standard maximum panel is 5 × 10 feet; larger assemblies need section and reinforcement planning.

Send the approximate width and height, quantity, finished sides, desired texture, colors and shipping ZIP. Include mounting information and any backing or bracket provisions you want us to supply. We quote the agreed sign with shipping included. Tell us about the delivery location and receiving access before the quote is prepared.

Anyone can buy directly at our factory-direct wholesale pricing. Sign shops can also order a raw or primed face for their own finishing workflow. Once you accept the quote, we send an invoice for full payment. Manufacturing starts after payment and written production-proof approval. A required arrival date should include time for both production and transit.
